A word from our botanical manager
As I worked in a Gin distillery in the United Kingdom, I fell in love with the use of plants in distillation and the fascinating world of cocktails. Having grown up in beer in the Netherlands, it was quite natural that I started wondering what would happen if you were brewing rather than being distilled with these medicinal plants. I was curious to know what type of character these herbs, spices and fruits could give beer.

To my surprise, I discovered that the lowlands have in fact a very intriguing story with regard to brewing with medicinal plants. When the Dutch explorers roamed the globe, they returned home with cargoes filled with precious herbs and exotic spices, which quickly found their place in Dutch beer.

This is how the idea of lowlander beer was born.
We are convinced that a little Dutch ingenuity combined with the power of nature creates unlimited possibilities. Over the past six years, this conviction has successfully brewed botanical products to widen the horizons of beer. At the same time, we are very aware of the fact that we should never consider the beauty and the benefits of nature as acquired. This is why we are launching the challenge of brewing beers that consume less and that makes nature what it has given us, striving to have a positive impact on nature by 2030.
